currently obsessing over

by Jenny on February 22, 2011

these
curtains from kfd designs. also, really obsessing over anything black + white chevron striped, if you really want to know.

painted staircases
. i mean, really. amiright?!

and while i’m at it, painted dressers. such a great way to make an old dresser new again. i have quite  a few old dressers in my house that are in need of a face lift. oh yes i do.

these
fab kiddo coat hooks found over on ohdeedoh. must do something like this for the kiddos.

a big girl bed for dotty. like this one belonging to the lovely alice, over at swonderland.

amazing 70s inspired room via modern kiddo.

bedroom makeovers for both kid’s rooms. dotty will be 3 in a blink and i think her red + white rainbow room has seen it’s day. and henry’s room hasn’t had any major changes in a couple years, unless you count moving furniture around? he’s got a vintage map/science/solar system/pale blue + orange thing happening. we’ll probably stick with that? maybe a fresh coat of paint and some new curtains would be nice though.

i adore both of these rooms seen on ohdeedoh. see the whole room tours: left and right

so with all this inspiration, i’m waiting on one thing. some warm weather. so that i can open up the windows and let the sun shine in. i had a tiny taste of it yesterday when it was 70 degrees out. but just like that! we woke up today to 25 degree temps and snow. and i won’t be fooled! march is tricky like that, so i know we have at least a couple weeks to wait.

i’ll try to be patient. and in the meantime, i’ll continue obsessing. :)

I really adore the 70′s inspired room, the mixed prints go very well together. Love it!

LOVE the toddler bed…that was on the top of my list for our boys, but it was a little out of our budget considering we had to buy two (we have twins). Maybe I can live vicariously through you? :)

I’m completely inspired by all of these cool retro spaces, too! Love all the colors and complete creativity.

you are so sweet! and just coming clean here: she TOTALLY doesn’t sleep in that bed. at all. she sleeps in clark’s room. i wouldn’t buy a toddler bed again. but it does look cute in her room and makes a fun place for them to play! we will probably replace it with a big bed guests can sleep as soon as we get around to it. :)

our basement stairs are already painted (on the rise) just a boring ol’ off white… and i think we’ll leave the step itself unpainted wood (as it is now) so i keep telling myself, no biggie, i could paint it lime green and it’s just paint. when we get sick of it or need to sell the house, back to white it goes :)

sometimes painting something that hasn’t ever been painted can be scary… but if it’s already got a layer of paint on it, i say go for it! what do you have to lose?? :)

i am itching to re do the kiddos rooms too! especially since cash just broke the drawer on his dresser. mind you it is OLD it was mine when i was a wee one! i think it’s time for him to graduate to bigger drawers. not those itty bitty tiny ones!
