Progress! I’m starting to see the light over here on these (now slightly behind schedule) spring break projects. I was determined to finish this dresser today. I do love how it turned out, this shade of pink is just.so.happy making, don’t you think?
I am going to refinish the iron bed frame tomorrow and hope to pick up the new (big girl sized!) mattress within the week. And then, my friends, I will officially be on the homestretch in Dotty’s room! Just need to sew the curtains, and frame the new/old art for the walls and then I’m onto Henry’s room…. aye! (fyi, here are some before peeks)
In related news, my hands are a wreck. Between painting, sanding, stripping, more sanding, more painting, and oodles of recent yard work on top of all the dishes I wash all day long, my hands = ouch. This Mama needs a paraffin wax treatment stat! Daddio, are you listening?!

a few things that happened last week:
His & Hers Smoothies + Flea Market Treasures + Dotty got a cute new dress + I rearranged some stuff in the living room + My amazing Divine Nine necklace arrived + the weather was pretty amazing + I spent the morning at Dotty’s school + we received the best package from Misha Lulu + I enjoyed laying in the green grass + I found many more treasures + I stayed plenty busy with the shop, updating it and getting orders shipped and I wrapped up the week with a little Mad Men, not too shabby.
a few things that did not happen last week:
Time on the internet, didn’t have much of it. Progress in the kid’s rooms, kinda fizzled out a bit as a result of being sick for two weeks. Generally keeping up with things around the house like laundry, dishes and tidying – yeah, that all pretty much went out the window. Basically, last week was a bit of a bust in terms of staying on track and scratching things off my list. I’m determined to work double time this week to make up for it.
a few things I’d like to accomplish this week:
Wrap up all the painting-related tasks that are currently on my list. I’m starting today by finishing Dotty’s dresser. It’s been stripped and sanded and is currently awaiting a couple lovely coats of eraser pink. I’d also like to take a car load of stuff over to the shop. From what I hear, I sold a few large items (furniture) over the weekend and surely there are some empty spots in my room that are waiting to be filled. Start the herb garden. And finally, start thinking about/planning Dotty’s 4th birthday. Funny thing is, all she wants is a chocolate donut, just like last year.
Happy Monday, Friends!

One of the things Dotty and I did over her spring break last week was dig for worms. Finding them was made especially easy since Matty and I had left a few leaf piles in the yard for a little too long, and on the bottom of these piles were worms the size of sharpies, and a lot of them. This girl is not afraid, not one bit. In fact, she loves her little worms. She gets into this happy little zone, digging and singing and unearthing worm after worm. She even took some of them on a scooter ride, the poor little dudes.
So I would rake and she would rifle through and together we would squeal and screech with happiness and ooh and ahh when she’d pull out the big guys. I also carried several small trash cans full of leaves (and chock full of wormy, buggy treats) to the chicken yard and let those girls go to town. It’s funny to see how excited chickens get when you do something as simple as toss some wet leaves into their yard.
I happened to come across these photos of Dotty from last spring, doing the same exact thing. The only difference this year is that she’s more likely than not to be wearing a ballerina tutu while digging for worms. Our girl has hit the ballerina phase, but that’s a story for another day.

Hi, Friends! I hope you had a great holiday weekend, and didn’t eat too many deviled eggs.
I’m busy adding a handful of things to the shop this morning, including these sweet things you see here. Salt Water sandals, pretty vintage hats and a few pretty linens are on the way in a bit!
Something in particular you’d like to see? Shoot me an email or leave a comment here + let me know!
