I am swooning for the Nimbus Factory’s products! These would make my day, week and month if I won them. But even if I don’t, I’ll surely give into temptation & buy them regardless, such amazing stationary is hard to find.

I really do this is JUST the thing to kick off spring. I will most certainly write my Nana with these cards if I am the winner. As for a story… I once spent an entire lovely spring day sitting in my room when I was a wee 6 year old, punished for jumping into the muddy brook in our backyard, carving the word (inexplicably, even to this day) “vanish” into my window sill. Needless to say, back to back punishments made for a sad spring Ashley.

My husband sent me flowers today – just because he loves me! I don’t think it’s because it’s Pi Day, even though he IS a mathematician. :)

My new year’s resolution was to write one snail mail letter a week. I have been LOVING the process and so have the recipients. Connecting with friends via mail makes me so happy. This stationery is fun and gorgeous. Would love to make it a part of my project. What a great give-away.

The happiest story today is that my windows are open, I can hear the birds singing, and even new shoots of grass are coming up! In Minnesota at this time of the year, this is nothing short of a miracle. Sunshine is glorious medicine for the soul.

Boy boyfriend’s mom LOVES and paints elephants, so I’m always on the look up for something super-rad with elephants. If I win the journal, I’m giving it to her.

Love them!
So I was getting ready to make chili the other day and the recipe called for exactly 239 beans.
Why you ask?
Well because any more would have been too farty!
HAH!

I have a birthday goal to write 52 letters by my next birthday. These cards would most certainly be a part of that goal.
Something happy…I’m a teacher and Spring Break starts on Friday (and I get two weeks!). Yippee!

the last thing to make me laugh was hearing my 22-month-old daughter learn to say “tortilla” this morning–”TILLA! TILLA! TILLA!” how can that not make you smile?

this morning on the way to school and work, I took my my daughter – who’s unofficial mascot is the elephant – to the “croissant store” for breakfast. That is 7-11 for junkie overly sweet coffee for mommy and a croissant for her. So simple, but made the day very special for us.
I’d love this journal.

Hey, this just reminded me, I got elephant curtains for her room from you. I need to snap a pic for you. They look cute!

I have a funny story! This is a story that my Granny shared with me (it happened when she was a little girl) and I’ve made her tell it to me at least 200 times!

One summer night my Granny, her mom and sister walked to a friend’s house to borrow a skillet. On their way home they had to walk through an alley. They heard a man say “Hey! Get over here!” in a harsh tone and all 3 of them started running. My Granny was holding her mom’s hand and her sister was a little ways behind them… Every time she would catch up she would get whacked in the face with the skillet. When they finally got home they were standing under the porch light and her sister was banged up! Her Mom turned to Doris and said “What happened to you?!”

Hahahaha!!!

It is gorgeous out here in my beautiful mountains. An early burst of Spring destined to last through next week– which is wonderful because my birthday is this coming Monday! I shall be a glorious 42, which means {provided you know Douglas Adams} that as of Monday I will become the answer to Life, The Universe & Everything– & if that ain’t a happy story, I don’t know what is!

What a lovely little giveaway!
I’m a big fan of bright colors and mixed patterns! <3
My story~ It was a GORGEOUS 65 degrees today up here in Michigan and my little Marlie (2 1/2 yr-old daughter) and I soaked up every inch it! We kicked the morning off with opening up ALL the windows and letting the yummy sunshine and light breeze dance around our house.
Then we had a HUMONGOUS pancake breakfast with brown sugared bacon and fluffy scrambled eggs!
After breakfast we danced around the kitchen with our aprons still on <3 to a little bit of Billie Holiday and Etta James…

~I couldn’t possibly dream up a better morning than that <3 just perfect!

What vibrant and colorful ways of saying hello! I’d love to make those mine to start writing letters again. When my friends and I all went off to college, we regularly stayed in touch via a journal we all passed around, snail mail and novel-length emails. That just never happens anymore, even though we’re still far away from each other! I’d love to bring back those traditions, or at the very least an occasional mailbox surprise. :) Thanks Frecklewonder!

I don’t have a joke, but I have two happy thoughts this morning:
1. I just found your blog & am in love!
1. I made rainbow cupcakes last night for my son’s class today. The smile on his face was worth every minute.

Archaeologists digging in a Pyramid in Egypt have found a mummy covered in chocolate and nuts – Experts believe it to be Pharaoh Roche.

Something that might make the kids laugh :)
