my gosh. i felt like we would never get here. and even though we are still under a whole bunch of snow, it’s beginning to feel a little bit spring-like out there. yesterday i heard a woodpecker in the back yard, and each morning, there are more birds singing their good morning songs. so this is good!
i got a huge wave of inspiration this weekend and did some major editing of my wardrobe. and it feels amazing. my closet is still really full, but it’s the best of the best- and only stuff i *really* want to wear. i purged about a dozen pair of jeans, oodles of tshirts, shoes, etc. perhaps a picture is in order? the other thing that’s really nice is i got rid of all the wire hangers. it makes a difference! i have slowly been working our way to all wooden hangers- whenever i see them at the thifts, i pick them up. around the holidays, i scored a couple dozen nice new ones for next to nothing. one day, i hope to have all wooden hangers. is that weird?
when i finish up the closet (still have to organize that top shelf of bags + such) i promise a photo. perhaps it will inspire you to do a little early spring cleaning of your own!!

i changed all our hangers over to wooden ones last year. i was super pedantic about it though – they had to be not only wooden but matching so i bought them all from ikea which ended up being a surprisingly expensive undertaking. it looks so lovely now though!

I had to comment on the wooden hanger thing – no, you are not alone. I switched ours over a few years ago, when my now husband and i moved in together…and of course i had him do the same. sure, he doesn’t care. but especially when i’m doing the laundry and ironing and spending more time in our closets then he does…i want pretty hangers to look at!
It just looks more organized I think.
i need to purge as well. it’s HARD. good for you.
