thrifting is good :: vintage kids books

by Jenny on February 19, 2010

dotty and i hit the thrifts this week and this is one of the treasures we brought home. a 1967 book entitled wonderfully made, one of a series of 6 books published by the board of parish education of the lutheran church.

other books in the series: i wonder, i wonder (which i also have, you can see images from that one in this post), take the high road, life can be sexual, parents guide to christian conversation about sex, and christian view of sex education. some of the messages might be a little old fashioned for me, but the illustrations are right on the money. and combined with the colors and the amazing fonts, it’s really everything i look for in a vintage kids book.

enjoy.

My parents totally had that book! I remember finding it on the shelf in the den when I was little and sneaking looks at it when my parents weren’t around. I didn’t realize it when I was a kid but you’re right – the illustrations are so great. I hope they still have it somewhere so I can take it home with me. What a blast from the past!
