I have to ask–do you have any special lighting for your pics? Or does your camera just ROCK? I’m struggling with my pics right now–I currently take ‘em outside, but with the weather not cooperating, it can be weeks before I’m able to take pictures. Any suggestions are sooooo welcome!

hi mairi! i don’t have special lighting- only a decent camera (i use a nikon d40) and nice sunlight. i don’t ever attempt taking photos for the shop on a cloudy day- no sense in spending all that extra time color tweaking photos… so these pictures were just taken in a nice, sunny room- i actually only cropped them down but didn’t do a bit of tweaking color/contrast wise… i would say, sunlight is your friend!!! i know it’s so tough in the winter months with the short days, and the darkness and all… just hang tight! spring is around the corner :)

I CAN”T believe nobody has purchased that Gold T-neck or that adorable Black 50’s dress… jeez, come on little ladies, they are
awesome!! (too small for me, but I can see that T-neck so many different ways… sigh)

tee hee! jill, thanks!!!! i think they are fab too… it’s funny sometimes, when things don’t sell immediately, even if they are fantastic, they somehow sit around for a while… sometimes they need a second run- not sure why, but that’s how it seems to work.
      ??!!

i cannot help but wonder HOW DO you do it? how do you collect and find such loveliness and then PART with it? you amaze me…;)

ohhhhh, JEK. sometimes it’s hard- i think that the only thing that makes the parting easy is the fact that i have YEARS and YEARS under my belt at this point.
almost 10 years of selling online, so in some ways, it’s gotten a lot easier? i think also because i rarely thrift *just for myself* and i always have the shop on the brain!!!!

BUT with that said, just the other day, i was looking back through the frecklewonder set on flickr, and i was kind of crying a little bit at some of the amazing pieces that i forgot all about and wondering how i let them go!!!!!

      XO
