love love love the dresses! my daughter is 2 1/2 and whenever i find dresses i buy them up…..but she is going through a phase that she doesn’t want anything to do with dresses. bummer because i have scored some good ones recently!

Hi, I’m new here! I have a love for vintage toys. As I scrolled down to your other posts, I see some familiar things! (That clickety-clackety alligator…I know it’s not vintage, but I have the red caterpillar. It was the first toy I bought when pregnant. On major discount, too!)
I recently started doing more thrifting again, and your blog has been inspiring, especially for clothing. I realize I’ve loved these things all along, but never had the know-how to coordinate the oddities I saw and loved. So thank you.

I’ve had just terrible luck lately. Clay is convinced that the economy is to blame. Whether people aren’t getting rid of stuff or more people are thrifting, we just aren’t finding treasures. We did have some luck at the swap meet last weekend though.

hey vanessa!
well, my old secret is to touch everything. sounds crazy time consuming, but when it comes to clothing on hangers + on racks, my old trick is just to literally MOVE EVERY PIECE as i move through the rack. i used to do this every time… now, i am better at doing faster scans for colors/textures/patterns and have a pretty seasoned eye for picking out the vintage treasures without having to touch every piece… BUT, when i have the time i do my old trick because there plenty of pieces that don’t stand out in a quick scan that end up being awesome finds once you pull it off the rack.
definitely requires a lot more time + patience, but it’s worth it when you find the good stuff!!!

you have the best luck! I am pretty good with finding the toys/cameras/bags but when it comes to the clothing I don’t have the patience. what’s your secret???
